Joesph Fitzpatrick Deasy

If you have not heard by now, our baby boy, Joseph Fitzpatrick Deasy was born on Feb. 8. 2010. He was 8 lbs and 13 ounces and measured 21 inches long- not a small baby! Joey arrived 5 hours after my water broke. All I have to say about the delivery is 'thank goodness for epidurals!.' The whole process went really smooth. Kevin was able to have 2 weeks off of work and we have spent the time getting acquainted with Joey. He has become the joy of our family and we have so much fun with him. It's simply a miracle. Kevin and I can spend hours watching him sleep! Our friends and family have been amazing and have come around us and supported us with meals, moved furniture and have showered us with gifts. Becoming parents is such a gift that we do not take for granted. We thank God daily for this child. We hope this update finds you well. Be blessed, much love to you! - The Deasys

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all of our friends and family. We hope this update finds you well. Here are some recent pictures of our family.

We have been greatly blessed this year and are overjoyed to be having a little boy this coming Feb., the 9th- Joseph Fitzpatrick Deasy. We have enjoyed spending Thanksgiving with our family. Also, a highlight recently was participating in the 'Advent Conspiracy' within our church, Genesis. A group of us went and visited the homeless in downtown Phoenix where we were able to bless them with blankets, warm clothing, coffee and hot chocolate. It was a great way to remember the reason for the season and to give back just a little of what we have been given. May you have a blessed Christmas. Love Kevin and Priscilla

Fall is Here!

Wow, what a perfect time to be thankful. As I reflect on my last posting and prayer requests- God has been so faithful... and similar to the pilgrims has provided for us abundantly. Since moving back from Israel late August. Kevin was able to not only find a part time youth ministry job at Genesis church (http://www.genesis-church.com/) but was also encouraged by our dear friends, the Nobles, to pursue seminary. Kevin just made the deadlines to enroll into Fuller Seminary for fall quarter 09 and has been taking Hebrew and Spiritual Foundation which he is thoroughly enjoying.
While Kevin is busy juggling his new job and studies, I have been nesting in our new apartment apartment 217 off of Tatum and Greenway. We found out also in September that we will in fact be having a little boy! We are really excited and already have a small accumilation of clothes. This week we even started our baby classes with some dear friends who are about the same far along as us. This too God provided for us at a very reasonable cost. I have also begun a business/ministry called 'Send Out Cards.' It is a really neat way to stay connected with friends, family and even clients. It enables one to create a physical personalized card with your own handwriting and pictures at a very reasonable cost- also great for holidays! Yes. For those 'Go-getters' for the holidays, take a look at my Send Out card website at (https://www.sendoutcards.com/priscillad) to try sending a free card! I have included an example of a card we used for last Easter for friends at home while we celebrated at the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem. What a special time.

We again thank you for all of your prayers and if you are ever in the area stop by and say hello.

Prayers & Life

Thank you all for your prayers for our trip home! As requested, I'm posting a picture of the belly.... or the baby.
It's been an exciting week since being home. It's been a whirlwind of visiting with friends and family and being spoiled by mothers. Kevin and I had our first baby prenatal appointment yesterday. Things are well and they have determined we are about 16 weeks along making the expected due date February 10th, 2009. It took our breath away hearing the heartbeat of the baby for the first time- wow!
We are excited for our ultrasound in 2 weeks where we will find out whether it is a girl or boy. Kevin is in the process of job hunting so has his hands full. If you would keep us in your prayers the following weeks as we still re-adjust to the American culture and being home.

Travels Home from Israel

EGYPT:

TURKEY:

U.S.A.

We have made it home to Arizona after traveling through Israel, Egypt, Turkey, London and Boston. It has been quite an adventure but we are very fortunate to have done it all. We left Israel sadly the end of July to travel across the Sinai. We passed the Suez Canal into Cairo. We stayed in Cairo and were able to see the pyramids, which were fascinating. We then traveled to Istanbul Turkey where we were able to see Ephesus (where Paul visited), Pamukkale (a unique place because of the calcium sediment that makes it look like snow but it’s actually a very warm spring), Cappadocia (where 3 volcanoes made unique minerals that created strange formations and caves) and Konya (an older more conservative town). We liked how the trip included both historical aspects and natural sites. The only thing that was a challenge was nausea due to early pregnancy but puffy cheetos saved the day and helped me immensely with all the traveling. Boston was our highlight because we spent a week with family. We celebrated Kevin’s birthday with lobster, chocolate cake, a lunch at the Polish House Restaurant and a game at Fenway ball park which sadly the Red Sox lost. It was a wonderful time to debrief and reflect on our last year in Israel.
